Okay so with all that said, let's discuss the Amazon Category Best Sales Rank Chart. While it isn't as pertinent as it was in years past, it still provides value.
Every product is assigned a BSR by Amazon that changes by the minute, hour, or day. This rank is indicative of how well an item is selling in its category. A rank of 1 would be the best product in that category. The higher the BSR, the fewer the sales of that product. As with most things with Amazon, it is complicated.

The BSR Chart that Chris offers for free lists the rankings per category. so let's say you are sourcing books and you find one with a BSR of 3 million. You might think you should pass, but in Books a rank of 3.5 million is in the top 5%. Home and Kitchen is another category where a rank of 4 Million is in the top 5%.

Amazon Sellers Reach Melting Point With New Attribute

Amazon announced a new policy requiring sellers to provide information about the melting temperature of heat-sensitive goods. But there's some confusion about whether all sellers will be required to indicate whether their items are heat sensitive or not.

Amazon posted the following announcement on Tuesday afternoon:

Melting temperature attribute will soon be a required step for ASINs
To help improve the customer experience, we've added a melting temperature attribute for ASINs. Starting April 22, 2021, this attribute will be a required step when you fill out information for the following:
- New ASINs
- All existing ASINs when you update any attribute on a product information page
For meltable items, such as chocolate, lip balms, and wax-based products, select Yes for is heat sensitive and provide information about the product’s melting temperature.
Although melting temperature is currently an optional attribute, we recommend that you update your affected ASINs now so that they are current as of April 22. If you offer temperature-sensitive ASINs that Amazon also offers, the product attributes may have been updated already.

Jeff Bezo's Goodbye Letter

On April 15th, Jeff Bezo's penned his last Letter To Shareholders.
It is a long but interesting read. He isn't really leaving...he will be the Executive Chair and here is his new initiative and promise:

In my upcoming role as Executive Chair, I’m going to focus on new initiatives. I’m an inventor. It’s what I enjoy the most and what I do best. It’s where I create the most value. I’m excited to work alongside the large team of passionate people we have in Ops and help invent in this arena of Earth’s Best Employer and Earth’s Safest Place to Work. On the details, we at Amazon are always flexible, but on matters of vision, we are stubborn and relentless. We have never failed when we set our minds to something, and we’re not going to fail at this either.

Other initiatives he will be involved with concern climate change on a grand scale. He has even invested billions of dollars of his own money into companies that develop solutions to this big problem.

He finishes his letter with this:
To all of you: be kind, be original, create more than you consume, and never, never, never let the universe smooth you into your surroundings. It remains Day 1.
